The Bartender's Ball
March 28, 2006 | Orangeburg SC
Lighting design by Jack Kelly

Featuring the Sounds of
Tootie and the Jones
This party was particularly
fun because we squashed the par-can / pin-spot bug immediately.
In looking for new and interesting was to light swag we decided
to go with American DJ H20 250 fixtures. They provided an interesting
texture to light the banners against the ordinary textures of the
banquet hall. On the left side of room a wide cove sported 4 American
DJ Infernos. The fire theme was enhanced by stopping the color scroll
on the H2Os on orange on the right side of the room. Budweiser has
released a new line of wine coolers which needed to stand apart.
The display was cross washed with an H2O on color scroll making
the display very evident on the far side of the room.
The space of the room was
accentuated with two Robe 575 Vision Scans and two Robe 250 Spots
constantly scanning the room with Budweiser select gobos. Once the
band started the two scanners and two Robe 250 Washes washed the
stage with an overwhelming richness of color contrasting against
the seeming monochromatic fire glow around the room. The audience
loved the effect commenting that a touch of Vegas had come to Orangeburg. |
