Welcome
to the Bartender's Ball Pravda Style; presenting beautiful bartenders,
fashionable decor, and the best vodka shots straight off the barrel
of an ice pistol. For this year’s theme, we celebrated the
Caribbean.
Ice sculptures are my favorite
objects to light, not only are the ice sculptures beautiful but
they reflect and refract light. Back lit with two color-changing
wash fixtures, the ice sculpture magnifies the spender of color,
morphing through vibrant oranges, seductive reds, luscious greens,
and deep water blues. The bartenders were washed in my favorite
lighting effect: American DJ H2O 250s. The water effect gave them
the look of light reflecting off the ocean from coastal sun. For
those looking for more, I used the clubs custom gobos to crawl the
10' ceilings, grabbing the crowds and pulling their attention to
Pravda's. The moving head spots were programmed to drop just low
enough to sweep through the gun, creating a western-style sheen.
The shimmering effect on the gun was the detail that completed the
hottest bar at the Bartenders Ball in Charlotte. How do you get
everyone’s attention in a room full of bars? Light, Ice, and
Skin. |
