Lighting and Video for Rabbit in the Moon
2007 | Amos' Southend

. . . bands typically are not trying to establish a dictatorship. Most bands understand that every space is different and they want help from those who are familiar with a space. However, they are understandably upset if their rider and their vision are completely ignored. The job of the lighting/video company is to try to understand the purpose of the stage design . . . CharlotteOneThe Fusion Venue
Lighting & Sound for the Alleycat

May 1, 2007 | Charlotte NC

. . . The waning interest in the singular clubs, restaurants, music venues, and neighborhood bar has led to fusion venues. These venues combine all of the above. In the fickle market of entertainment with big profits and devastating losses, progressive bar owner/managers are seeking a gambit of beverage connoisseurs from the 6 o’clock after work cocktail to the 9 o’clock music lover to the midnight-party-till-closers. . . . . Instantaneous Response with LEDs
Breast Cancer Benefit at the Mint Museum
2007 | Mint Museum | Charlotte North Carolina

. . when describing lighting ideas to clients most the time they don’t grasp everything I am trying to say. However with LEDs I can show them different color combinations and effects in minutes allowing for last minute changes. In the days of yore, many times a client would pull a last minute change that involved cutting gel sheets and switching out hot gel frames. With a simple command from the lighting console, I transformed the entire space allowing the client to judge the reality of light and not the imagined image. . . .read more

Lighting Ballantyne Village Theatre
2007 | Charlotte NC | Ballantyne Village Theatre

. . . When designing parties, one size never fits all. I have bullied spaces into what I want, adding trussing and scrims and hiding all sorts of unattractive or inappropriate décor. Many professional event venues use very simple unobtrusive interior designs for that reason . . . Click here to read more

The Organic Approach to Videos
Ramon Boutviseth and Bo Bice on Witness
September 18th & 19th, 2007 | Nashville TN

Throughout the lighting dialogue, Ramon kept repeating the word organic. Organic was a little confusing, I kept digging through with questions trying to understand. He said it so much I wanted to slap him. What the hell is organic and how can I plan for it? Well I couldn't. The solution didn't come until the day of the shoot. . . .Click here to read more
